Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 15 May 2025  ·  Effective Date: 15 May 2025

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Clockraft's website and workshop services. Please read them at your own pace before submitting a piece for service. By bringing or sending a watch to us, or by using this website, you confirm that you have read and understood the terms set out below.

1. Definitions

Throughout this document the following terms carry the meanings given here:

2. Acceptance of Terms

By leaving a piece with our workshop or by using this website you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not accept any part of these terms, we kindly ask that you do not proceed with service.

To enter into this agreement you must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to contract under Thai law. If you are submitting a piece on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity.

3. Service Description

Clockraft is a Bangkok-based workshop offering three categories of horological care:

Quoted turnaround times are estimates in good faith. Actual completion may vary depending on the condition of the piece, parts availability, or workshop capacity at the time. We will keep you informed of any significant change.

Services are available to customers in Bangkok and may be arranged by post with advance agreement. Geographic availability is at our reasonable discretion.

4. Your Responsibilities

4.1 Ownership and Authority

By submitting a piece you confirm that you are its owner, or that you have the owner's clear written authorisation to commission work on their behalf. Clockraft will not knowingly accept pieces that have been reported stolen or that are the subject of any ownership dispute.

4.2 Accurate Information

You agree to provide accurate details about the piece — including known faults, previous repairs, and any modifications — so that our craftspeople can assess the work required correctly. Inaccurate or withheld information may affect the scope, cost, or outcome of the service.

4.3 Collection

Once we notify you that your piece is ready, we ask that you arrange collection within 30 days. Where a piece is not collected within 60 days of notification, and we have made reasonable attempts to reach you, we reserve the right to levy a storage charge.

4.4 Website Use

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or interfere with the website's operation. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its underlying systems.

5. Intellectual Property

All text, photography, design elements, and other content on this website are the property of Clockraft or its content licensors. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference. Reproducing, distributing, or modifying content without our prior written consent is not permitted.

Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership of any watch brand, trademark, or technical documentation belonging to third-party manufacturers. All such rights remain with their respective owners.

6. Payment Terms

6.1 Pricing

Service prices are stated in Thai Baht (฿). Published prices are indicative; the final price for a specific piece will be confirmed after our initial assessment and before work begins. We will not proceed without your authorisation of the quoted figure.

Where additional work becomes necessary once a piece is open — for example, a worn component not visible externally — we will contact you with a revised estimate before continuing.

6.2 Payment Methods

Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card, or cash at collection. Full payment is due before we release the piece, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

6.3 Cancellation

If you decide not to proceed after we have begun work, reasonable costs incurred up to the point of cancellation may apply. We will discuss this with you openly and fairly.

6.4 Returns

If a service does not meet the standard described at intake, please notify us within 14 days of collection. We will assess the issue and, where the concern falls within the original service scope, address it at no additional charge. This does not affect any statutory rights you hold under Thai consumer protection law.

7. Repair and Handling Terms

7.1 Intake and Assessment

Every piece is photographed and condition-noted on intake. This record is shared with you and forms the baseline for any post-service discussion about condition.

7.2 Parts

Where original manufacturer parts are available, we use them. Where they are not, we will discuss suitable alternatives with you before fitting anything. No substitute part will be fitted without your agreement.

7.3 Originality

Where you instruct us to preserve the original character of a piece — particularly for vintage or collector watches — we will note that instruction and work accordingly. We will raise any concern about originality before proceeding.

7.4 Water Resistance

Where water-resistance testing is included in a service, results are valid at the time of testing and under the conditions tested. Subsequent changes to gaskets, crowns, or case integrity may affect performance. We do not warrant ongoing water resistance after collection.

7.5 Risk While in Our Care

We take reasonable care of every piece entrusted to us. In the unlikely event of loss or damage caused by our negligence, our liability is addressed under Section 9 of these terms. We strongly recommend that high-value pieces are covered by your own insurance for the duration of the service.

8. Disclaimers

This website and the information on it are provided in good faith and for general information. We do not make any representation as to specific outcomes or the continued performance of your piece following service. Watch mechanics involve many variables beyond our control, including the age and prior history of a movement.

Nothing on this website constitutes professional advice of a legal, financial, or any other regulated nature.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, Clockraft's total liability to you — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

We shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use of a piece during service, loss of any sentimental or collectible premium above market value, or loss arising from events outside our reasonable control such as natural disasters, supply disruption, or infrastructure failure.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold Clockraft harmless from any claim, cost, or liability arising from your breach of these terms, your submission of a piece you did not have the right to bring to us, or any inaccurate information you provided at intake.

11. Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before work begins without penalty. Once work has started, the cancellation provisions in Section 6.3 apply.

Clockraft reserves the right to refuse service at intake or to cease ongoing work if we have reasonable grounds to believe that continuing would involve us in an unlawful act or place our staff at risk. In such circumstances we will return the piece to you promptly.

Sections 5, 8, 9, 10, and 12 of these terms survive any termination of the Agreement.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, including the Civil and Commercial Code and applicable consumer protection legislation.

12.2 Jurisdiction

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok, Thailand.

12.3 Informal Resolution

Before commencing any formal process, we ask that you contact us directly at [email protected]. We are committed to addressing concerns through straightforward conversation where possible, and will respond within five working days.

13. General Provisions

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use the website or our services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
