A Workshop Built
on Unhurried Work
Clockraft began as a small bench operation in Bangkok's Lumphini district and has grown through the same principle that started it — one watch handled properly at a time.
Back to HomeWhere Clockraft Comes From
Clockraft was founded in 2009 by Aroon Surapan, a horological technician trained in Switzerland who returned to Bangkok with the intention of running a proper independent repair bench. The name came simply — craft applied to clocks, in the most literal sense.
From the beginning, the workshop took on fewer jobs than competitors to ensure each received adequate time. That approach has not changed. The team has grown to four, the address has moved once, and the equipment has been updated, but the method is the same.
Today Clockraft works from Wireless Road, close to the Ploenchit corridor and easy to reach from most parts of central Bangkok. The work covers strap and bracelet refreshing, chronograph servicing, and complete overhaul with case refinishing — three services, each with a clear scope and transparent pricing in Thai Baht.
What We Are Here to Do
Clockraft exists to give Bangkok watch owners an alternative to sending pieces abroad for service. For many years, owners of fine mechanical watches in Thailand faced a choice between inexperienced local repair and expensive international shipping. That gap is what the workshop addresses.
The mission is simple to describe: receive a watch in worn or faulty condition, assess it properly, carry out the agreed work without deviation, and return it in a state the owner is satisfied with. No overpromising, no unexplained charges, no delays beyond the stated range.
The written service record that accompanies each completed piece reflects that commitment. Every watch that leaves this bench carries a clear account of what was done, which parts were replaced, and what the timing results showed.

How Work Leaves the Bench
Timing Verification
Every movement is measured on a timing machine before and after service. Results are recorded and included in the service documentation handed to the client.
Pressure Testing
All overhaul completions are pressure tested to confirm water resistance is within the manufacturer's stated rating before the piece is returned.
Written Service Record
A written record accompanies every completed piece, listing parts replaced, work performed, timing results, and the date of completion. Useful for resale and insurance.
Client Authorisation
No work begins without written or confirmed client authorisation of the scope and price. Changes discovered mid-service are communicated immediately before proceeding.
Secure Piece Handling
Watches are logged in a physical register on arrival and stored individually in padded compartments. A watch in the workshop is treated as if it belongs to the bench, not a shelf.
Original Finish Respect
Refinishing follows the original surface specification. Brushed surfaces are re-brushed; polished surfaces are re-polished. A mixed finish is maintained in its mixed state unless the owner requests otherwise.
Bangkok Watch Repair, Handled Properly
Mechanical and automatic watches require periodic attention regardless of brand or age. The lubricants inside a movement degrade over time, gaskets harden, and fine tolerances shift with use. A watch that runs well today may begin losing or gaining minutes per day within a few years if the service interval is ignored.
Clockraft covers three areas where Bangkok owners most often find themselves without a reliable local option. Strap and bracelet work sounds routine, but an improperly resized bracelet wears differently on the wrist, and spring bars installed carelessly can fail at inconvenient moments. Chronograph servicing demands familiarity with the additional lever and cam arrangement that sits on top of the base movement, and very few independent workshops in the region have this experience.
Complete overhaul — movement disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, re-oiling, reassembly, timing, and case refinishing — is the most involved service and the one where the quality of outcome varies most between workshops. At Clockraft, it is also the service that receives the most time, with turnarounds of four to eight weeks built around the work itself rather than an arbitrary target.
