Challenge
Vintage Dress Watch — Untouched for 22 Years
The client inherited a Swiss automatic dress watch in working condition but noticeably slow. The case had accumulated scratches across both brushed and polished surfaces and the original crystal was clouded and deeply scratched.
Solution
Full overhaul service selected after assessment. Movement disassembled, cleaned, mainspring replaced, all jewel settings inspected, reassembled with correct lubricants. Case hand-finished to original specification — brushed on the sides, polished on the lugs. Crystal replaced. Gaskets renewed and pressure tested.
Outcome
Movement timing: +4 seconds/day (within rated tolerance). Case surface restored to original finish differentiation. Water resistance confirmed. Completed in 6 weeks. Client collected with full service record.

Challenge
Sports Chronograph — Reset Failure
The chronograph seconds hand on a well-used sports watch had stopped returning cleanly to twelve o'clock on reset. The minute recorder was functional but the elapsed-time reading was unreliable due to the imprecise reset. The owner had been told by two other workshops that the column wheel needed manufacturer replacement.
Solution
Chronograph service carried out. On disassembly the column wheel was found to be intact; the issue was wear on the reset hammer tip and incorrect endshake on the chronograph seconds wheel. Both addressed without replacement of the column wheel. Full timing review of base movement also completed during the service.
Outcome
Reset returns precisely to zero. Pusher action confirmed positive and consistent. Base movement timing within rated tolerance. Completed in 3.5 weeks. Client saved an estimated ฿8,000 versus the column wheel replacement path.
