Each service at Clockraft begins with an assessment. The technician describes what is observed, proposes a scope, and provides a price in writing. Nothing is opened or dismantled before the client has agreed to the scope and cost.
Once authorised, the work proceeds according to the described method. If something unexpected is discovered — a cracked jewel, a broken stem, worn keyless works — the client is contacted before the scope is extended. Parts are sourced locally where possible to avoid delays.
On completion, timing is verified against the movement's rated tolerance, pressure is tested where applicable, and a written service record is prepared. The piece is returned with that record, the replaced components noted, and timing results documented.

Strap & Bracelet Refresh and Sizing
Cleaning, resizing, and refitting of leather, rubber, or metal bracelets, with worn spring bars renewed as needed. Suited to owners who want the watch to sit and feel right on the wrist. The bracelet is disassembled, cleaned, reassembled to the correct wrist size, and the clasp mechanism is checked for secure function.
Leather and rubber straps are assessed for wear and replaced if required. Metal bracelets are adjusted via standard link removal or micro-adjust as the design permits. Spring bars are renewed as a matter of course.

Chronograph Servicing & Calibration
Servicing of the added chronograph works alongside the base movement, with pusher function checked and reset behaviour adjusted. Suited to multi-function pieces whose stopwatch action has become stiff, sticky, or imprecise — common after several years without attention.
The additional column wheel or cam mechanism, lateral clutch or vertical clutch, and all related levers are cleaned, inspected for wear, re-lubricated, and adjusted. Function testing covers start, stop, and reset across all sub-dials. Timing performance of the base movement is verified alongside the chronograph work.

Complete Overhaul & Case Refinish
A full movement overhaul combined with hand refinishing of the case and bracelet to bring a well-loved piece back to a confident, wearable state. The movement is fully disassembled, each component cleaned in an ultrasonic tank, worn parts replaced, reassembled with correct lubrication, and set to the manufacturer's rated tolerance.
The case and bracelet are hand-finished to original surface specification — brushed where originally brushed, polished where polished. Crystal is renewed. Gaskets are replaced and pressure is tested to the manufacturer's stated water resistance rating before the piece is returned.

Applied Across All Services
Piece Security
Every watch is logged in a physical arrival register and stored in individual padded compartments throughout its time at the workshop.
Timing Machine Measurement
Movements are measured on a timing machine at the start and end of every service. Results are documented and handed to the client.
Pressure Testing
Completed overhauls are pressure tested before collection. No piece leaves the workshop with unverified water resistance.
Written Authorisation
No work starts without confirmed written authorisation from the client. Scope changes mid-service are communicated before proceeding.
Ultrasonic Parts Cleaning
All disassembled movement components are cleaned in an ultrasonic tank before inspection and reassembly — not wiped with a cloth.
Service Record Issued
A service record accompanies every completed piece, covering all work done, components replaced, timing results, and the date of completion.
